ARE TROUBLING TIMES FOREVER?

 Overwhelming challenges currently confound nations across the world

Troubled by criminality, insecurity, debts, decadence, and deception

 

The lovely life we dreamed of adorned with joy has turned to misery

Caused by past sloppy plans, acts of unruliness, and then loss of values

           

Today, at different levels, we all seek places of comfort and retreat

Pondering where to look to, to find the Noah’s ark as we await disaster

 

All such thoughts of gloom and doom are where hopelessness resides

The right reactions, a positive attitude, and return to good values bring hope

 

Facing the reality of life is acknowledging that living comes with lots of pains

Same as having faith is, knowing you can, like the wind, change your fortune

 

Hope is to hold on tight to all ropes, avoid failure and not give in to misery

As avoid living in denial is same as not hiding like the ostrich, heads hidden

 

It is faith that perceives sunshine amid a troubling storm, and hardship rain

Hope that despite setbacks or non-fulfillment finds an open road to triumph

 

We must dig deep to replant and raise the courage with which we are graced

As hope dwells and thrives in places of willpower and God’s inherited favour

 

Individually, we can take this advice and swim in sure strokes to peace of mind.

But doing so in a troubled world is like having a cow pulling a cart filled with gold.

 

What troubles we face in Nigeria, as it is all over the world, are like a flood of mud.

Where not correctly run to follow a course, levels and smears all in an arrogant ride

 

Despite today’s troubling times, Nigeria remains our shield in the rain as in the sun.

Nigeria will live on; as a beautiful wounded work of art; let’s together keep it uplifted.

WHY WOMEN WON'T GO TO HEAVEN

First is to have the writer introduce the main character(s) and intimate something about the situation she/they are in-i.e the conflict that will provide dramatic twine for the story; (2) to get us interested and involved; and (3) to do it all in a timely fashion, i.e. it stops being an opening as soon as possible and gets on with the story.... ‘WHY WOMEN WON’T MAKE IT TO HEAVEN’ succeeded in doing just that...it introduces us to the characters, showed us where they were, and showed that they’ve gotten concerns or problems. And it does all these in the first page; starting with a long paragraph and quick five short paragraphs.
