Work & Play Promotions Takes Car racing Rally Back To Ondo State!
Starting April, 8th, 2023, the Nigeria premium 6th auto car racing anniversary by Work & Play promotions will hold in Ondo State, Nigeria. The Nigerian motorsport company, Work & Play promotions (W&P) is again taking some of Nigeria’s best-renowned car professional racers and enthusiasts’ drivers from different parts of Nigeria to the Ondo State motor festival.
Starting April 8, in Ilara-Mokin and Akure simultaneously, it
is scheduled that track and back street racing will take place. Noteworthy and
innovative at this year’s event, as has become the tradition, all genders are
allowed to race and there always will be carnival-like eat, dance and drink
jollity to follow in the evenings.
Renowned drivers such as; Anthony Singray, Argo Raak, Ralph,
Taiwo Fatimehin, Nagode, Hussain, etc will be participating in the Ondo two days
races.
Speaking exclusively to segun Ozique at his Lagos Headquarters
office, The CEO of Work & Play, and chairman of the rally Mr Ade Ojuoko
says, he spends close to #35 million for each organised rally circuit and event.
His prime motivation in organising these rallies, he says, is his interest, and
love for cars and his chance to expand social infrastructure backed by tourism
to the community; that is, giving back as much as he can, to society. He also
has an interest to develop local motorsports so that drivers with an ambition
to compete internationally are equipped with the necessary skills and financial
control to enable them to participate internationally without being exploited.
Talking about remunerations for the participant, the
chairman says, all participants are bound to go home with prices whether in cash
or cash plus trophies. Even those participating virtually in simulation races,
christened game racing, would also be going home with prices. This last bit in
my opinion opens the door for the youths with the time and deftness in computer
gaming, particularly those car and racing enthusiasts who would not only be
having a fun time at their hobbies but when they win, be rewarded!
Attracting tourists, and revitalising as well as growing the local economy are some of the benefits of the motor racing business so far but this is bound to expand and the prices tag, as well as the returns to investors, grow as each race thus become a more or less prestigious event in the Nigerian and African sporting calendar. So, business actors like Mr Ojuoko, need the support, presence, participation and encouragement of political dignitaries, advertisers, industrial investors, and the press, to seize the occasion to continue to stimulate the present almost entirely mono-centric Nigerian economy. The activities following the rallies obviously illustrate the overlapping of the scale of the commercial effects and consequences of the festive events. Every time the race is held, the destination is bound to show an increase in gains by the hospitality sector of the state economy. The influence of the dignitaries to be present will also attract the dragnet of the media, fare well ladies, tourists and traders of all sorts. So, for all and sundry, if you are not in Ondo, for this festivity, do know you have missed the opportunity to give your body and heart-deserved pleasure, time out, and relaxation for the year!
