BEAUTY

Broke, oblique, banish to dungeon
Deface, defame what flavour in her
Beauty is deep, beyond surface, faux
Is, handiwork of God, Eros craftsman

She can shift; soft to shattering strength
Yet, wooly she is, she wants; velvet and kind
Willingly walking the miles living to let live
In Being, in spirit, in submission unimaginable

Here's beauty, true diamond, no freak
Carrying burden in mold, in words in mystery
Yet captivating to eyes beholding her shine
Like effervescent river she flows, like smoke, seen.

TOPIC TODAY: is on Raising Activists or Bystanders; Teaching children to speak up. Do we teach children to speak when something is wrong? Do you encourage your children to question unfairness, even when that unfairness comes from you? When you see someone in trouble, do you look away to "stay safe," or do you look for a safe way to help? The Big Question: If every child in the next generation chose to be an "Upstander," what kind of society would we be living in twenty years from now?
