A SONNET FOR LIFE'S PRECOPUS MOMENTS
In shadows cast by fate's unyielding hand,
I recently survived a near fatal accident dancing with death,
Now I linger here near the edge of life's abyss, fragile but still alive,
God has bestowed me a gift—a chance to reminisce.
I cannot sleep as night stretch like moon-kissed nights,
I stay awake pondering mortality's silent plea,
How swiftly moments slip through mortal maze,
And how we take for granted what we freely are gifted.
I've loved and been beloved, felt passion's fire,
Traversed the globe, embraced diverse terrain,
Tasted life's rich tapestry, its vibrant choir,
Each face, each culture, etched upon my brain.
My son, my pride, a legacy so bright,
My wife, my angel, guiding me with prayers.
And Gabriel, my brother, steadfast and true,
Across the world, dear kin, I hold you near,
If fate should claim me, skies of azure blue,
Know this: I'm in a happy place, devoid of fear.
No tears, my family and friends, for I have lived my best,
To realms unknown, I will journey, heart at rest
