A SONNET OF GRATITUDE: EMBRACING LIFE'S JOY
To my fellow Writers, guided by DChair and WIN President,
In this poetic haven, I share wisdom gleaned,
From your responses to my verses, twofold are my lessons:
We all ought learn to tread gently upon our own souls,
Make kindness our compass, and gratitude our song.
For what we possess outweighs what eludes us.
Each dawn, a whispered promise—and privilege.
On this fleeting voyage across Earth’s canvas,
Inevitability dances in both light and shadow.
Why, then, dwell on and be dead set on overcloud?
Instead, seek the crevices of light where joy blooms.
Life—a fragile gift, is a miracle spunned.
Sleep and waking, twin threads we have no control.
Escaping mishaps, is all by His mercy.
So, now, as I gaze sleeplessly skyward, seeking stars,
And as me and my phone dance these tete-a-tete with you, my kins:
My family of Writers, be assured I do so with grateful heart.
