TOPIC TODAY: YOLO or Your Own Loss? Is "Life is short" a valid reason to live recklessly and take high risks, or is it just an excuse to avoid responsibility? Do you believe "normal, happy people" are truly happy, or is everyone just faking it to look good?

SCENE: Evakings Bar. 8:00 PM. The music is loud. Nne is showing everyone a video of a famous influencer who just crashed an expensive car while partying.

NNE (Shrugging):
Honestly, I don't blame him. People are dragging him for "reckless living," but life is short! Tomorrow you could wake up with a stroke or a sickness that stops you from ever dancing again. Why not take the risk now?

OLA (Scoffing):
Because "now" is the reason he’s in the hospital! You call it "living for the moment," I call it being a fool. You are actively digging the grave you are afraid of falling into.

ELDER EPHRAIM (Tapping his walking stick):
In my youth, we referred to this as "madness." Now you children call it a "vibe." If you spend your strength on addiction and "risky fun" because you fear the future, you are making sure the future will be miserable. You are creating the very tragedy you say you want to avoid.

NNE: But Elder, be real. Are there actually "happy" people? Or is everyone just pretending to be normal while they die of boredom? I’d rather have a "short, loud life" than a "long, quiet, boring one." I don’t want to look back and regret that I didn't "live" when I had the chance.

JENNIFER (Nodding):
Nne, what you are describing is a Cognitive Bias. You are using the "shortness of life" as an excuse to avoid the hard work of building a stable future. You’re not "minimising regrets"; you’re just mortgaging your health and your peace for a 5-second dopamine hit.

JIDE (Satirically):
It’s a beautiful trick. We say, "I might get a stroke tomorrow, so let me drink two bottles of dry gin today." We create the disaster to prove we were right about life being short! It’s like setting your house on fire because you’re afraid it might rain.

EOO (Softly):
True life isn't a race to the finish line, Nne. It’s a garden. If you stomp on the flowers today because you think they might wither tomorrow, you never get to see them bloom. A "normal happy life" isn't a scam - it’s a choice made every morning to respect the body and soul you were given.

ELDER EPHRAIM:
Listen to the poet! If you take care of your youth, your old age will take care of you. Many of you marry and have kids just as a "backup plan" because you’re scared of being alone when the "reckless living" stops working. That is not love; that is insurance.

NNE (Quieter now):
So, you guys think we "make our own beds"? Is that nobody is just "unlucky"?

OLA: Luck exists, but most people are just sleeping in the bed they made themselves. If you live like there’s no tomorrow, don't cry when tomorrow comes and you’re too broken to enjoy it.

JENNIFER:
The most "normal" happy people aren't faking it. They just realised that discipline is the only thing that actually prevents regret.

JIDE: Exactly. So, eat the chicken, enjoy the music, but don't burn the house down. So that, you might actually wake up tomorrow, and you'll need somewhere to sleep.
